Lead Training Designer

Our Lead Training Designer reports directly to our Head of Training and Delivery and will play a central role in the creation and development of a range of Rainbird’s compelling, high quality blended learning programmes.

About the role

Supported by an instructional designer (e-learning), videographer and subject matter experts, the Lead Training Designer will build and deliver all Rainbird programmes including Rainbird Author training, sales and project management as well as a variety of technical tracks. 

Key to this role is the ability to understand training needs analyses and to liaise closely with subject matter experts to develop detailed briefs and advise on the best blended/digital solution for our clients.

This role is based full time in our Norwich office, however occasional travel nationally and internationally may be required.

Experience, qualifications and certificates

  • Liaising with subject matter experts taking briefs and advising on the most innovative, interactive and effective blended/digital solution to meet our clients’ needs
  • Designing and building a range of engaging leaning experiences across a variety of delivery types such as e-learning, blended, games, animated videos, workbooks, stand-up and webinars
  • Managing project plans and ensuring all solutions are delivered on time, within budget and to the require quality standards
  • Keeping abreast of developments in learning theories and related technologies and advising the team on new technologies and design approaches for all devices, such as mobile, to ensure we deliver the best service to our clients
  • People management experience

We are looking for

  • Strong understanding of, and a passion for, instructional design methods and learning theories
  • Experience of designing multi-platform blended digital solutions including mobile
  • Experience of designing a range of learning technologies such as webinars, video, animations, games and workbooks
  • Adept at using rapid development tools such as Articulate, Adobe Captivate and the Adobe Creative Suite an advantage
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
  • A demonstrable track record of successfully managing learning design projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent writing, editing and layout skills and a passion for design and visual impact
  • Experience working in a fast paced and agile environment
  • Ability to learn new technical skills quickly
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to guide individuals through complex subject matter
