Rainbird Technologies are recruiting a Business Development Representative (BDR) who is keen to drive new client acquisition as part of an ambitious, creative and friendly sales team. We’re a rapidly growing intelligent automation scale-up in the heart of London. We help organisations automate complex decision-making through the use of our award-winning SaaS platform to create sustainable business transformation for our clients.
As a BDR you’ll play a critical part in growing the opportunity pipeline through the identification of new markets and prospective clients. Your role will encompass both Outbound and Inbound business development activity to find and nurture prospects and deliver high-quality 1:1 new business meetings for the field sales team, contributing to the growth of the sales pipeline. You will also assist the field sales team by researching new market expansion opportunities, exploring new partnerships and teaming opportunities for the Rainbird platform. You’ll achieve this by applying your intelligence, tenacity and creativity. For example, when engaging in Outbound activity, you will be responsible for running highly personalised and targeted client messaging, evidencing Rainbird’s powerful platform through the use of client case studies, webinars, events and relevant content. The high volume of Inbound enquiries Rainbird receives need careful attention and qualification before progressing to a sales accepted lead in the cadence process. All of the tooling and resources to assist you in managing the opportunity life-cycle and support the various channels of communication (phone, email, web enquiry, downloads, events) will be made available to you.
You’ll own one of the most important parts of our sales process: creating a vision of success and improved outcomes for our clients and, with our help – through best in class training and development – we will create a platform for you to become an expert in your field and in time progress to team leadership and onto a field-based quota carrying role. You’ll take pride in optimising the tactics and tools you will use to win new customers and you will be motivated to achieve your targets. You’ll enjoy collaborating with the wider Rainbird team to deliver our expansion strategy and achieve significant market growth.

Key aspects of the role include:
- Conducting market discovery and identification of target industry verticals and accounts
- Finding decision-makers within target accounts using a variety of tools and tactics.
- Using outbound methods and messaging sequences to nurture decision-makers.
- Initiating conversations with decision-makers and qualifying accounts for importance.
- Managing inbound leads and scoring for relevance.
- Gathering intelligence about accounts and decision-makers and building precise CRM profiles.
- Collaborating with an account executive to convert your prospects into sales accepted opportunities and future Rainbird clients.
We don’t expect you to be an expert in the software markets we operate in (we’ll help you with that) but if you’ve previously worked with, or have an affinity towards, software or technology – you’ll have a definite advantage. Experience of sales prospecting could also be useful but isn’t necessary to excel in this role.
