Rainbird named a Major Contender — Everest Group AI-Powered Decision Intelligence Products PEAK Matrix® 2026

Rainbird has been recognised as a Major Contender in the AI-Powered Decision Intelligence Products PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2026, published by Everest Group. It’s the first time Rainbird has been assessed in a PEAK Matrix® report.

The assessment sits within Everest Group’s Data and Analytics research programme and evaluates product vendors on two dimensions: market impact and vision and capability. Market impact covers adoption, portfolio mix and value delivered to clients. Vision and capability covers vision and strategy, decision modelling, decision orchestration and governance, implementation and support, and commercial model.

Why it matters

Decision intelligence has become a recognised analyst category in its own right, and Everest Group’s assessment is one of the first to look specifically at the products in it. Being evaluated is a powerful signal to banks, insurers and professional services firms that deterministic decision automation is now something analysts expect enterprises to be buying.

James Duez, CEO of Rainbird, said:

“Regulated firms have now spent years working out where generative AI fits and where it doesn’t. The answer they keep arriving at is that language models are good at language, and decisions that carry regulatory or financial consequences need something else. Rainbird was built for exactly those decisions. Every answer Rainbird gives is deterministic and comes with an evidence tree showing how it was reached. We’re pleased Everest Group has recognised the value in deterministic reasoning approaches.”

What Rainbird does

Rainbird turns institutional knowledge, including regulation, policy, procedures and the judgement of experienced staff, into computable knowledge: a model that is authored and tested rather than trained. Rainbird reasons over that model against live evidence to produce a decision at high speed and for zero token cost. Given the same model and inputs, Rainbird’s technology produces the same answer every time, with no generative step in the decision path, and it records an evidence tree so that every outcome can be inspected, challenged and defended.

Firms deploy Rainbird in three ways, defined by who holds authority over the decision. In Decision Support, Rainbird advises and a person decides. In Decision Assurance, Rainbird checks a decision proposed by a person or an AI agent before it takes effect. In Decision Automation, decision authority within defined bounds is delegated to Rainbird and the result can be acted on directly.

Current use cases include financial crime and sanctions screening, KYC, lending and credit decisions, underwriting, claims, and tax and audit judgements: the operational decisions where a predicted incorrect answer is expensive and a predicted explanation isn’t acceptable.
